Diesel Filtration

It’s well known fact within the mining industry that contamination within diesel fuel is costly and is something that should be avoided. However, preventative measures Come at a cost too and there for it is critical to understand them any possibilities that can cause contamination and address each one prior to choosing a suitable solution. When selecting bulk filtration system there are several things to consider – capital cost, system size, filtration efficiency, installation and location of the system. All of these Important aspects should be discussed with a filtration.
Solutions partner to ensure that the correct system is selected and installed Many types of contaminants exist in diesel fuel – hard, abrasive particles, waxes and other soft resinous materials, including fuel breakdown products, asphaltenes in some fuels, microbial growth, air and water. The hard abrasive particles are the predominant cause of wear of injector surface sand nozzles. The predominant wear mechanisms area abrasive and erosive wear. Abrasive wear is caused by the entrapment of particles in between moving surfaces that are in sliding contact. These particles damage the surfaces, altering clearances, which affects the delivery of the fuel tithe combustion chamber.
Pall Ultipleat® High Flow filters provide mining customers with the most advanced and cost-effective product for controlling bulk diesel fuel particulate contamination. Utilizing our unique crescent-shaped pleat geometry combined with a large diameter and Pall’s proprietary media, just one six-inch diameter Ultipleat High Flow filter element can handle up to 500gpm/ 1900lpm. This benefits our mining customers by allowing them to use significantly fewer elements and smaller housings for high flow rate bulk diesel fuel applications. You can now achieve the cleanliness levels that today’s modern MEUI and common rail diesel injection systems demand, in system that is 2-to-4 times smaller than conventional depth or pleated filter technologies.

This product offers the following benefits in this application
• Highest available dirt holding capacity
• Proven technology in the application
• Cost effective when sized correctly
• Wide selection of media grades to achieve the tightest fuel cleanliness specifications
• Elements are not effected by water as with most of products on the market
• Environmentally friendly
• Reduced landfill
• Combustible elements
